Domestic Violence

The second education seminar covered topic on “Domestic Violence”. 

The speakers of the seminar were Feride Kumbasar, the director of IMECE Women Centre and Emine Yoca, the speech therapist and team manager of IMECE. The seminar took place over two hours and the short film was screened in the  first 30 minutes. After the film, the seminar was transformed into a presentation that was supported by active participations of the attendees. The half-hour long film was called “Mirror”, which is about two women form different social backgrounds and they both experience domestic violence. The Mirror explore the story of a young woman from Turkey, who came to the UK on the basis of marriage and her GP, who is a middle-class white British woman. “A powerful story telling the solidarity of two women communicating through their experience”.
